Andrea came to i.D.R.E.A.M. when she decided to pursue a professional degree. She joined our network, and I learned that Black maternal and infant health was near and dear to her heart.

Five years later, she announced her pregnancy. The work that she did for us became real. Single mother to single mother, I introduced her to the AAIMM Doula Townhall Meeting in February 2020. Both Andrea and her mom received me into their village. All three of us are single moms and I served as a first-time mentor in their new roles as mom and grandmother. The honor is mine to give generational sister-to-sister support to her family. Andrea continues to work with us as an organizational leadership consultant, and she participates in our Community Mentors Program.
