HOME VISITING STORIES |
AMANI MEGGINSON
What made you choose home visitation as part of your family plan?
I was looking for in-home support to help with my children’s development and readiness for early education.
How did home visitation help you and your family?
It has helped my family and myself tremendously. Not only has it provided us with learning tools to help with my children’s education, but it has also given us bonus items that we needed to create a healthy home environment, as well as essential items that we need to maintain a healthy hygiene routine for the kids such as: pampers, wipes, body wash, lotions, etc.
Please share a story of one of your most memorable experiences during a home visitation appointment.
One of my most memorable experiences during our home visit was during the holidays when our parent educator, Ms. Melissa, came to our house bearing many gifts. She had her hands full, as she was bringing in items such as furniture for the children's room, a stroller, bassinet, high chair, baby gate, an activity gym, all to help us prepare for the arrival of our newest addition to the family, my daughter Amala. I was extremely overwhelmed with emotions, being that I wasn’t able to work while pregnant with my daughter, so these items were much needed and appreciated!
One reason a family should consider using home visitation services is:
It provides you that one-on-one support and connection that you and your child need to assure that your little one meets all of his or her milestones.
