Renett Clough, AAIMM DOULA

Renett Clough is a full-spectrum Doula, Student Midwife, Childbirth Educator, Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, and advocate with over 20 years of experience providing advocacy and support services to families within the under-resourced communities of South Los Angeles.


She was led to birth work following supporting her sister during the emergency cesarean birth of her nephew. She holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology and Africana Studies.


What does being a doula mean to you? 

As a doula, I’m privileged to provide support, advocacy, and create safe spaces for birthing families in my community.

One reason a family should consider having a doula is for support and education that increases positive outcomes.

Please share a story of one of your most memorable experiences as a doula.  


My most memorable experience as a doula was supporting my eldest sister during the birth of my nephew. This experience occurred before I knew what a doula actually was (and) led me to birth work and birth justice.
