"As a doula, I am privileged to provide support, advocacy, and create safe spaces for birthing families in my community."
– Renett Clough, AAIMM Doula
What does being a doula mean to you?
Being a doula means supporting, educating, and encouraging advocacy for birthing families.
One reason a family should consider having a doula:
Support, support, support.
Please share a story of one of your most memorable experiences as a doula.
My most memorable experience as a doula was supporting a family during the pandemic. The baby was born in a hospital, and the birth plan was executed seamlessly with a predominantly Black-woman-lead team (OB/GYN, nurse and doula).
