Parenting for Liberation is hosting a Queer Parents Day event in both LA and the Bay.  My team at P4L is expansive and is encouraging us to not only celebrate those who identify as Black Mamas and Dads, and to also create celebration that honors those caregivers who live outside of the gender binary. While this celebration centers Black trans, non-binary, gender expansive, etc. parents, we welcome their families into the space regardless of their identities. The event is free and we're excited to be outside and have a family-fun day. We'll have arts activities, food, giveaways and family portraits. We're hosting two celebrations in Oakland on Sunday, July 24th and in Los Angeles on Sunday, July 31st. Join us!

Parenting for Liberation is beyond excited to announce our new initiative to support the ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness of Black parents in California. We are launching the Black Parent Innovation Lab to provide funding and wraparound support to parents who are driving solutions to critical issues impacting Black families in their own communities. We are opening up this first cycle to folks who are California-based and will support 10 Black parents fellows with $5,000 each to test an idea in the community that creates solutions to problems impacting Black families.
