The Nile Sisters Development Initiative Women’s HEALTH program is excited to announce the beginning of a series of workshops for service providers to learn more about female genital cutting (FGC) and how to best support clients that are impacted by FGC. This 90-minute workshop will be led by a national expert in FGC and will cover introductory topics related to FGC: What is FGC, FGC in the US, Community Advocacy 101 (Who is at risk, How Can I create a safe space, etc.), and Serving Survivors of FGC. From our series of service provider workshops, we hope to develop a network of support for those impacted by FGC with providers that are well-informed of the consequences and prevalence of FGC.

This training is open to service providers from diverse fields and backgrounds, from health providers to victim advocates and caseworkers, to refugee/immigrant assistance organizations, educators, and so on.
