What does being a doula mean to you?

Being a doula means serving as an anchor and advocate during a family's most vulnerable and beautiful moments. I give the support my sisters deserve as a manifestation of an ethic of love as resistance.

One of my most memorable experiences has been going to the first birthday party of my first client's baby. I still remember the joy I felt seeing him walking, and knowing that I had been there for his first moments. The sustained feeling of connection to the families I support is one of the best parts of this work.
