August is Breastfeeding month! The Board of Supervisors proclaimed the month of August as National Breastfeeding Month, and the week of August 25th through 31st asBlack and African American Breastfeeding Week, “with the goals of reclaiming, celebrating and advancing breast/chestfeeding as part of community and family well-being, good nutrition, health protection, food security, and poverty reduction.” This year's theme, Step Up for Breastfeeding - Educate and Support, focuses on strengthening those who protect, promote, and support lactation, creating a chain of support for lactation.
AV AAIMM will have events during the month to celebrate and support our families!

Families can come and join a lactation support group, connect with resources, enter a raffle for a breast pump & Donate breast milk for our babies in need!
