The Village: Virtual Mental Health Support Group for Black/African American Moms
Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, in collaboration with our partners from Antelope Valley AAIMM CAT will begin The Village Virtual Mental Health Support Group for Black/African American Moms.
They are welcoming San Fernando and Santa Clarita residents to join their virtual events on Wednesdays at 11am.
Please contact Denise Theus ([email protected] or 213- 247 - 6678) if you are interested in attending. Topics for the support group will include building healthy relationships, addressing trauma, depression, anxiety, and stress, empowering Black/African American women, etc.

Mighty Little Giants – NICU Awareness Month
September is NICU Awareness Month, and Mighty Little Giants has some exciting virtual experiences planned! Mighty Little Giants, Inc. is a National 501c3 Non-Profit Organization supporting families in the NICU and beyond. In addition to the NICU support services, they also provide prenatal doula support services for mothers on bedrest, and postpartum support services for NICU moms and full-term birth moms.”

THE VILLAGE FUND - REGISTER BY OCTOBER 14!
The Village Fund seeks to reinforce the broad goals of the AAIMM Prevention Initiative by funding community-led efforts that support the physical and mental well-being of Black women/birthing persons, fathers, partners, and families before, during, after birth. Organizations, networks, coalitions, individual service providers, micro-enterprises, or small businesses are eligible to apply. Priority consideration will be given to entities that are Black-led.
The Village Fund was developed by a team of Black women and allies representing the South LA/South Bay and Antelope Valley Community Action Teams, the AAIMM Countywide Steering Committee, First 5 LA, LA County Department of Public Health, and philanthropy. The Fund is managed by the LA Partnership for Early Childhood Investment and is capitalized by a combination of public and private philanthropic dollars.
